Susan H. Lawrence (CIMA)
Senior Vice President-Investment Officer
Susan has more than 20 years of experience providing investment and wealth management services. She specializes in economic outlook, investment policy, portfolio construction and management. She dedicates her time to the implementation and monitoring of clients’ investment portfolios. As a dynamic process to helping clients reach and maintain their goals, she works to educate and equip clients with the know-how to be an integral part of their own wealth management process. Other areas of speciality are asset allocation, money management, risk management, investment planning and legacy planning. Researching to determine the best-in-class mutual funds, exchange traded funds, private money managers and providers of retirement plans is a focus.
Susan is one of only 5,967 Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA® ) worlwide. This designation is earned through the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). The CIMA® designation reflects experience, education, examination, and ethical standards. Every financial professional who has earned the CIMA® designation has broad experience in the field of investment management, has passed an extensive background check, and has completed a demanding graduate-level program of study in conjunction with the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce.
Her experience in communicating complex financial strategies in simple terms has made her a requested speaker - she has conducted financial seminars for over 10,000 people during her professional career.
Susan earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and began her career as an Associated Investment Executive with Drexel Burnham Lambert. She worked with Piper Jaffray as a Managing Director of Investments where she pioneered the retirement plan focus in the Northwest before joining Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm to Wells Fargo Advisors.
She is currently a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association, Washington Women's Foundation, and Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the Giant Magnet. She is a former board member of Economics America, the former president of the Seattle chapter of the BYU Management Society, and a former board member of the Intiman Theatre.
A native of the Puget Sound area, Susan lives with her husband and three children in Issaquah, Washington. She enjoys snow skiing and reading about historical and cultural topics, and loves a good biography. She holds a brown belt in karate, maintains a private pilot’s license, and is active in many philanthropic organizations locally and internationally, with a very special focus on the needs of orphans and children through the world.
